Under the latest reports, the output of coal mined in the pits of all forms of ownership in Ukraine in April increased by 1.1% against March, to 6.434 million tons, the coal industry ministry reported. Makeevugol coal enterprise is one of the leaders.

In April, the production of coking coal decreased compared to March by 0.4%, to 2.016 million tons, and the production of power generating coal grew by 1.84% to 4.419 million tons.

In January-April, the production of coal amounted to 24,577,000 tons, including 8.574 million tons of coking coal and 16,003,000 tons of power generating coal.

In 2009, coal mining enterprises of all forms of ownership decreased their output compared to 2008 by 7% to 72.219 million tons.

Coal Ministry forecasts increase in the coal output of state-owned mines by 2.76%, to 39.5 million tons in 2010.
