40,3% of Ukrainians believe that the epidemic of influenza and SARS is a political move to divert people's attention from more important issues. This was declared by CEO journalist of FOM-Ukraine "Alexander Bukhalov, accroding to UNIAN.
According to the survey, presented by A. Buhalov, 25,6% of respondents believe the epidemic in 2009 was a usual seasonal situation, 21,7% - normal seasonal situation which was showing the unprepareness of the medical authorities to it, 9,2% - flu epidemic in Ukraine. Hard to say were 2,8% of the respondents.
However, according to the poll, 60.8% believe that the spread of influenza in Ukraine, is more panic than a truth, while 39,2% did not see such a panic.
Of those who believed that the panic exists - 50% are sure that it is associated with escalating situation in the media, 22,4% - the panic of the authorities, 16,5% - the lack of medicines in pharmacies, 7.5% - an artificial panic created by politicians , 5,7% - a high mortality rate among the ill colds. Rumors, misinformation of the population - 2,4%.
In addition, the study was conducted on the question which of the Ukrainian politicians are most beneficial panic among the population. 37,2% of the respondents named in such a politician Yulia Tymoshenko, 15,4% - Viktor Yushchenko, 8,7% - Viktor Yanukovych, 0,6% - Arseniy Yatsenyuk, 0,9% - Vladimir Litvin. At the same time 23,1% answered that the panic is profitable for all, 0,7% said - the favourable business structures, 0,3% - the Party of Regions, without specifying the names and 0,2% - the government. No one benefits - 3,9% of the respondents.
The survey was conducted on 18-19 November 2009 by a telephone survey. 1 thousand respondents in 85 cities of Ukraine, whose population exceeds 100 thousand people were interviewed.Sampling error is plus or minus 3.2%.
