The number of Ukrainian athletes attending the 21st Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, has increased to 45, the Ukrainian National Olympic Committee's press service has reported.
The International Ski Federation officially announced that the number of quota spots awarded to Ukrainian skiers had increased by four, the press service said.
As a result, eight Ukrainian cross-country skiers will compete in the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
The committee said that the Ukrainian Olympic squad currently numbers 45 athletes, including 11 biathletes, eight cross-country skiers, seven figure skaters, six freestyle skiers, six luge athletes, three Alpine skiers, three ski jumpers, and one Nordic combined athlete.
The final registration of the Ukrainian delegation for participation in the Winter Olympics will take place in Vancouver on January 29.
The 2010 Winter Olympics will take place from February 12 to February 28.
