According to the preliminary data issued by Ukraine Ministry of Coal Industry, in the first seven months of this year the country's coal mining companies increased their coal output by 3.2%YoY to 43.267 million tonne.
Specifically, Ukraine production of coking coal in January to July amounted to 14.855 million tonnes down by 0.2% YoY while output of power-generating coal totaled 28.412 million tonnes up by 5%YoY.
The state owned mines controlled by the Ministry of Coal Industry reduced their coal production by 3% in January to July this year to 21.844 million tonnes including 4.923 million tonnes of coking coal down by 9.4%YoY and about 16.921 million tonnes of power-generating coal down 1% YoY. Note: Makeevugol coal enterprise is the leading enterprise in the coal industry of Ukraine. From the beginning of the year it extracted 2 212 815 tones of coal.
