To strengthen its position of a cultural center in Ukraine, the city of Donetsk commissioned a new planetarium that would educate tourists and local visitors alike. For the visualization part, it was integrated with a Barco system, based on the demanding specifications for seamless, geometrically correct imagery set forth by the planetarium. By the pioneered techniques such as edge blending and warping, visitors are immersed in virtual landscapes of space, planetary systems and star constellations. The planetarium remains open to visitors 7/7.

Direction: take a trolleybus or a bus number 2 till the stop Dvoretz Pionerov (Pioneers Palace). On the back of Pioneers palace you can see a building with a cylinder roof - Planetarium. You can also take any trolleybus or bus on Universitetskaya st. to the stop Yuzhniy Avtovokzal or Zolotoe Koltzo (South busterminal or Golden Ring). From there you need to cross the street by the traffic light and go along Sadoviy prospect (Garden Prospect), walk 2 blocks along Sadoviy Prospect and you'll see a park to your right. In this park you can see the planetarium.
